Roxie Sweetheart is the UK’s ultimate Kawaii fashion princess.
Roxie Sweetheart is a fashion entrepreneur inspired by Japanese fashion, My Little Pony, and, more recently, the UK drag scene.
Kawaii fashion falls in line with the “cute” ultra feminine style that Japanese girls tend to adopt as their go-to style. Roxie has given the UK an access point to this growing fashion phenomenon.
Learning about Harajuku fashion whilst studying fashion and textiles at university, Roxie became inspired by the Japanese fashion movements she was learning about. Another source of inspiration came from pop icon Gwen Stefani's album 'Love. Angel. Music. Baby'.
Roxie Sweetheart has become one of the UK’s most popular Japanese inspired fashion brands.
Instead of simply studying these fashion trends, Roxie immersed herself in the Kawaii style and made the genius idea of starting her own fashion business and brand with her favourite style in mind.
Roxie draws and illustrates clothing, makes bespoke jewellery and hair accessories. All of her products can be bought online, or you can visit her in person at one of her London based trades shows, such as Hyper Japan.
Some of Roxie’s designs originate from her inspiration as a young girl, including My Little Pony, Polly Pocket and Care Bears. She still uses some of this inspiration today in her handmade work.
Roxie Sweetheart isn’t just for Japanese loving fashionistas, it can also be purchased by those of us more “square” types who want to jazz up and accessorise day to day outfits.
Her most popular product are the beautiful bow shaped headbands that can be bought in a variety of colours.
The Roxie Sweetheart HeadBows are customisable, just let Roxie know what you would like when placing your order.
Roxie exudes confidence and this is reflected in her brand. The bright pastel colours and fun style represents the fun flare and freedom of style of which we should all be adopting in 2018.
We all need a little more Roxie Sweetheart glitter dusting in our lives.
